FAQ
Customer Questions and Answers (FAQ)
When should I book Malta for my child?
What should definitely not be forgotten?
Sunscreen. Malta is a sunny Mediterranean island. Sunscreen and a sun hat are essential. Sunglasses are also highly recommended.
Can my child manage the journey to school?
Host families often accommodate several students. This has the advantage that students can walk to school together. For longer distances, the school organises a shuttle bus. Malta is small, safe and easy to navigate.
How much independence will my child have?
In Malta, unlike on our boarding school programmes, students are given a degree of freedom to manage their own time. Supervision is less restrictive. For example, supervisors may allow students to spend a short period of time independently in small groups after a scheduled activity.
My child is under 13 years old. Can they still participate?
For younger children, we offer highly supervised language programmes in Malta for students aged 8 to 12 at our beach hotel through the Malta Salina Beach programme.
How much does a language programme in Malta cost?
A two-week language programme with 20 English lessons per week and accommodation in a host family in a triple or four-bed room with full board costs 1269 £. The extensive leisure programme, all airport transfers, the language course and accommodation are included in the programme price.
Can my friend, girlfriend, boyfriend, brother or sister be in the same class as me?
Placement is based on English level as well as age. In most cases, students travelling together can be placed in the same class.
Do I need to bring bed linen and towels?
Bed linen and towels are provided by the host family, residence or accommodation. For beach days, we recommend bringing a large personal towel.
Is there a placement test at the beginning of the programme?
Yes, a placement assessment takes place before the course begins. Students are then assigned to the appropriate language level.
When do I have to pay?
Upon conclusion of the travel contract (after receiving the booking confirmation and financial security certificate), a deposit of 20% of the programme price is due, with a minimum payment of £200, plus any applicable insurance premiums. The remaining balance must be paid 28 days before departure. Parents will find all payment details on the invoice.
