REASONS FOR A LISA! STUDENT LANGUAGE TRIP TO SAN GWANN:
- Right by the sea:
Our school is in the quiet villa district of San Gwann, a part of St Julian’s. From our school it’s a 20-minute walk to the sea and the beaches of St Julian’s Bay or Spinola Bay. In summer, St Julian’s is a lively town with plenty of shops, cafés and cinemas, and direct access to the sea. - International course participants:
We guarantee international groups. Our pupils come from all over the world, as LISA! Language Trips is one of the few providers with advisory offices in many countries, e.g. in Italy, Spain, Scandinavia, etc. - The lessons:
Lessons for our pupils and teenagers run from mid-June to mid-September at the Primary School in San Gwann. The school is optimally equipped for effective English teaching. In the other months, lessons take place at our language school in a lovely villa in the same district. Our programmes in San Gwann suit pupils and teenagers (11 to 17). Classes are arranged by age. The English course runs Monday to Friday in the mornings. - Free internet connection (Wi-Fi):
Fast, free Wi-Fi is available to our pupils throughout the school grounds. - Accommodation:
Your son or daughter will stay with a friendly English-speaking host family or, in summer, in a residence with a swimming pool. Our pupils receive full board, i.e. breakfast and a hot dinner, with packed lunches at midday. - Supervision:
All our teenager programmes are supervised. Supervision is provided by trained group leaders and teachers. Distances on Malta are short. Malta is a safe destination. There are intervals, e.g. on the way to school, when your children are independent and not supervised. We will advise you in detail. - Learning success:
Our courses are characterised by a high level of progress. This is ensured by selecting some of the best English teachers, specially trained to teach English as a foreign language. Lessons are conducted entirely in English. - The leisure programme:
The extensive LISA! leisure programme is included in the price. On discovery tours across the island, pupils visit, with their group leaders, the fortified capital Valletta, the nightlife district of St Julian’s, or take a trip to the island of Comino. Together you’ll go shopping, bowling or to the big water park. Afternoons and evenings feature parties, excursions and many shared activities on the beach. The leisure programme forms part of the teaching concept and makes a major contribution to progress. - English & family holiday:
At our school you can learn English as a family, with parents and children taught in separate classes, and not every family member needs to take a course. - Year-round courses:
Our San Gwann school offers English language trips for children and teenagers from 11 not only in the holidays but all year round. If the trip takes place outside the school holidays, your child may be taught together with adults. The leisure programme is then shared with adults and a group leader, and your child spends more time with the host family. - Quality standards:
Our school in San Gwann is recognised by eltCouncil. All teachers specialise in teaching English as a foreign language. - Arrival:
Please book a flight to Malta. Please note that travel is unaccompanied. Arrivals and departures are possible on any day, preferably Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. At the airport your son or daughter will be warmly met by our group leaders and taken to their accommodation.

Customer questions and answers:
When should I book San Gwann for my child?
Please book as early as you can. Popular dates are often fully booked by January for Easter and summer. Ideally, book in December for the following Easter or summer holidays. In some locations we can also arrange very late bookings. The flight is usually the tricky part. The later you book, the more expensive the ticket tends to be. Please call us for detailed advice.
How much free time will my child have?
Your child will be busy all day with lessons and activities. On Malta there is still free time they can shape themselves. There are free afternoons and evenings, and group leaders may allow, for example, shopping in groups after a museum visit. Parents who prefer a 24-hour supervised campus may like our programmes in England in Cheltenham or Nottingham.
How much does a language trip to San Gwann cost?
A two-week trip in summer with 20 English lessons per week and full-board homestay costs £1459. The extensive leisure programme, all airport transfers, the course and the accommodation are included in the price.
Can I share a room with my friend/boyfriend/girlfriend/brother/sister?
We are happy to arrange shared accommodation for friends or family members in the same host family or the same room.
Can my child manage the journey to school?
Several children usually stay with each host family. The big advantage is that they can walk to school together. Malta is a small, very safe island. Getting around is easy. A shuttle bus runs from the residence to the school.
Is there a placement test at the start of the trip?
Yes, a placement takes place on the first day. Pupils are then placed in the appropriate level.
When do I have to pay?
On conclusion of the contract (after receipt of the booking confirmation and the security certificate), a deposit of 20% of the total price is due, at least £200, plus any insurance premiums. The remaining balance is payable 28 days before departure. Parents will find all the details on the invoice.
