  3. Accommodation:
Your son or daughter will be hosted by a friendly, English-speaking family in Malta. Our families are fantastic, hand-picked and experienced hosts with years of experience. The family will also provide breakfast, a packed lunch and a warm evening meal.

  4. Free Wi-Fi:
Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the school building

  5. Supervision:
All of our language courses for under-18s are expertly supervised, both by trained tour guides and teachers. Malta is a safe holiday destination but there will be some times, for example walking to the language school, during which your child must be independent and there will be no supervision. We are happy to advise you on this in more detail.
Our 13 and 14 year old students must be back with their host family by 11pm at the latest and those over 15 must be back between 12am and 1am on Fridays and Saturdays.

  6. The course itself:
Our language courses in St. Julian’s are suitable for young people between the ages of 13 and 17. Class groups are organised according to age. After the standard course in the morning we offer an additional intensive course.

  7. Results:
A high level of success when learning English sets our school apart. Results are guaranteed by a selection of the best English language teachers who are all qualified to teach their mother tongue, English, as a foreign language. Lessons are taught entirely in English.

  8. Extra-curricular activities:
Our huge programme of extra-curricular activities is included in the price. During guided tours on the island, students will visit the fortified capital Valetta, St. Julian’s nightlife district and take a boat trip around the island. Students will also discover Malta’s rich history in various museums and during trips to neighbouring islands. Together students will go shopping, to the cinema or to the water park. Afternoon activities consist of parties, excursions and various community activities on the beach. These extra-curricular activities are part of the teaching concept and significantly contribute to English language acquisition.

  9. Accrediations:
Our language school in St. Julian’s is recognised by Eaquals, IALC, Feltom and ALTO. All of our teachers specialise in teaching their mother tongue, English, as a foreign language.

  10. Getting there:
We’ll happily book a low-cost flight to Malta for your child. Please note that they will be unaccompanied on the flight. Arrival and departure take place on Saturdays and Sundays and your son/daughter will be picked up from the airport and taken to their host family.

What should I pack for my child?
Most importantly you should not forget to pack sun cream for your child. Malta is a warm and sunny island in the Mediterranean. Sun cream and a hat should not be forgotten under any circumstances. Sunglasses are also recommended.

How much supervision will be child be under?
On both our language course in Malta for under-18s, as well as on our language course in Brighton, students will not be supervised the whole time. For example, after a trip to a museum the students may be given a couple of hours to go shopping in groups of 3. Parents who would like their child to be supervised at all times should take a look at our language courses for under-18s in Eastbourne (Sportcamp).

How much does a language course in St. Julian's cost?
A 2-week language course with 20 English lessons per week and accommodation with a host family (all-inclusive) costs £949. Our various extra-curricular activities, airport transfers, the language course and accommodation are included in the price.

Can I share a room with a friend or sibling?
We can accommodate friends or siblings travelling together in the same host family.

Will my child be able to get around on their own?
There are usually multiple children staying with each host family, which means that they can all walk to certain places together. Malta is a very small and safe island and it is easy to get around.

Will there be a language proficiency test?
Yes. On the first day of classes there will be a language proficiency test. You will then be placed into an appropriately-levelled class.

When do I have to pay by?
Upon finalising the contract (after we have received travel confirmation and all relevant documents), a down payment in the amount of 20% of the cost of the trip, but at least £200, plus any insurance premiums is payable. The remaining balance is to be paid 28 days before departure.

Are there similar courses in the UK?
Yes. For example, our language courses for under-18s in Brighton are similar to those in Malta. Both courses take place in a seaside town and both are popular destinations for young people during the summer months.
