All our young learners’ language courses are supervised programmes. Supervision is provided by the teachers and the entire school team. There are short intervals – for example on the way to school – during which students are independent. We will advise you in detail. - Top location:
Lessons take place in a historic university building in the heart of the city, just a few steps from Piazza dell’Unità d’Italia. The residence is located in the same building. In the surrounding streets you will find authentic Italian life: talking, gesturing, laughing – and of course eating. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the school. - Lessons:
Italian lessons take place in small groups with a maximum of 12 students. From Monday to Friday, students receive 20 Italian lessons per week from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. - Accommodation:
Your son or daughter will stay in a residence in the city centre. Accommodation is in three- or four-bed rooms with private bathroom. Students receive full board: breakfast and a hot dinner in the residence, and lunch at school or as a packed lunch during excursions. The course can also be booked without accommodation. - Family holidays:
In Trieste, one or more adults can attend an Italian language course at our adult school at the same time as their child (12–17 years). - Activity programme:
The extensive LISA! leisure programme is included in the course price. It is an integral part of the teaching concept and contributes significantly to learning success. Together we explore the city on a guided tour, visit San Giusto Castle and Miramare Castle, take trips to Aquileia and to the water park in Grado. We go hiking in the Karst mountains, take part in archaeology workshops, visit museums, play volleyball and basketball, or swim at various beaches around Trieste. We climb in the adventure park or go canoeing. In the evenings we sing karaoke and make music together. - Learning success:

When should I book Trieste for my child?
Please book as early as possible. Popular course dates are often fully booked by January for Easter and summer. Ideally, you should book in December for the following Easter or summer holidays. In many destinations, we can arrange short-notice bookings; the main bottleneck tends to be flights. The later you book, the more expensive the flight usually is. Please call us for detailed advice.
Can my child manage the way to school?
All students stay in the residence, which means the journey to school can be made together. The school is only a few minutes’ walk away.
What is the cost of a language course in Trieste?
A two-week course with 20 Italian lessons per week and accommodation in the residence with full board costs £2199. The full leisure programme, airport transfer, lessons and accommodation are all included.
Can my child be in the same class as a friend/brother/sister?
Placement is based on Italian level and age. Normally, it is possible for students travelling together to be placed in the same class.
Is there a placement test at the start of the course?
Yes. On the first day, students take a placement test and are then assigned to their appropriate level.
When do I have to pay?
Upon booking (after receiving the travel confirmation and security certificate), a deposit of 20% of the course price is due (minimum £200), plus any insurance premiums. The remaining balance must be paid 28 days before departure. All details are stated on the invoice.
