REASONS TO CHOOSE A LISA! LANGUAGE COURSE IN FLORENCE:

  1. A City of Timeless Beauty:
Florence, located in the heart of Tuscany, is one of the most important cities of the Renaissance. The historic centre – where our language courses take place – is home to world-famous landmarks such as the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Uffizi Gallery, and the Ponte Vecchio. The city’s narrow streets, historic palazzi, and countless museums embody the elegance of centuries past. Across the Arno River, the district of Oltrarno is famous for its artisan workshops and peaceful atmosphere, with highlights such as Palazzo Pitti and the Boboli Gardens. San Lorenzo is known for its lively market and the Medici Chapels, while Santa Croce houses the basilica where Michelangelo and Galileo are buried. The San Frediano quarter offers a truly authentic Florentine atmosphere, where visitors can savour traditional Tuscan cuisine in family-run trattorias. Florence is also the ideal gateway to explore Tuscany’s rolling hills, vineyards, and charming cities such as Siena and Pisa.
  2. Tuscan Cuisine:
Tuscany is world-renowned for its authentic, aromatic, and flavourful cuisine. In Florence, you can enjoy traditional dishes such as Crostini con fegatini, Ribollita, Pappa al pomodoro, Cacciucco, and the famous Bistecca alla Fiorentina. Each dish reflects the region’s philosophy of simplicity and quality — fresh seasonal ingredients, fine olive oil, ripe tomatoes, and fragrant herbs, all accompanied by superb Tuscan wine. Even the simplest ingredients taste divine here — a humble carrot seems to capture the Tuscan sun itself. As locals, we are delighted to share insider tips on where to eat well and avoid the typical tourist traps.
  3. Students & Diversity:
Most of our students travel to Florence alone but quickly meet friendly, like-minded participants from around the world — often on the first day of class. Traditionally, university students and young professionals aged 20 to 35, as well as established professionals aged 35 to 45, choose LISA! Study Abroad. Learners over 50 are also warmly welcomed and often enjoy our Language and Culture Programme, a perfect way to combine learning Italian with discovering Florence and Tuscany.
  4. Excellent Location & Facilities:
The LISA! Language School is located in the heart of Florence, near the cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. The school is housed in a beautiful historic palazzo, with some rooms offering a magnificent view of the cathedral’s dome. Within minutes, you are in the centre of the old town, surrounded by excellent restaurants, cafés, and shops. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the building.
  5. Courses & Lessons:
We use the direct method, recommended by the European Union, which ensures rapid progress — you’ll notice real improvement within the first few days. Our teachers are professionally qualified to teach Italian as a foreign language and guarantee the highest standard of quality and professionalism. With engaging materials and interactive teaching methods, learning Italian becomes both effective and enjoyable.
