The natural landscape of New Zealand is breathtaking: imposing volcanoes, geysers and long beaches are only some of its sceneries. Auckland is a cosmopolitan city, whose cultural scene is a mixture of ancient Maori traditions and immigrant influence. Traces of this incredible combination can be found in its exotic toponyms, its different culinary traditions and its extremely varied art scene. In the eastern part of the city you will find the white beaches of Mission Bay, Devonport and Takapuna. In the western side of the island, the beaches of Piha and Muriwai have a characteristic dark sand, which is the result of volcanic activity.
