IELTS Preparation
The IELTS Preparation Course includes 28 lessons per week and focuses specifically on examination techniques, academic English and test preparation strategies.
Course Start Dates and Levels
Courses begin every Monday. If the start date falls on a public holiday, classes begin on Tuesday. During the summer months, lessons may alternate between morning and afternoon schedules.
All English courses are available for participants aged 18 and over. Accommodation with a host family is also available for mature participants aged 16 and above. Courses are suitable for all levels, from complete beginners (A0) to near-native speakers (C2).

When should I book?
We can often arrange bookings at short notice. However, flights and accommodation availability in London can become limited, especially during peak periods. We recommend booking at least 2–6 weeks before departure.

Is London City a good place to learn English?
London is one of the best places in the world to learn British English. Surrounded by authentic British culture, history and everyday language, participants benefit from continuous language exposure both inside and outside the classroom.

How much does a language programme in London City cost?
A two-week programme during the summer, including 20 English lessons per week and accommodation in a host family single room with half board, costs approximately £1,539. Seasonal pricing applies, and prices are generally lower outside the summer months.

When do I have to pay?
A deposit of 20% of the programme price is due upon booking, with a minimum payment of £200. The remaining balance must be paid 28 days before departure.

Additional expenses may include flights, personal spending money, airport transfers, extra accommodation nights and optional services.

On your first day, you will complete a placement test and then be assigned to the course level that best matches your English proficiency.

Are these programmes suitable for school students?

What happens if the school is closed on a public holiday?
Schools are closed on public holidays. Except for individual lessons, missed classes are generally not rescheduled. Public holidays do not reduce the programme price.

In most cases, yes, provided that both participants have a similar level of English.
