FAQ
Frequently Asked questions (FAQ):
How far in advance should i book ?
We can usually accommodate short-term bookings. However, the main bottlenecks are typically flight availability and accommodation options in Cambridge. We recommend booking at least 2 or 6 weeks before your intended departure date.
Is Cambridge-City a good place to learn English?
Absolutely. Cambridge is known for "Received Pronunciation" (the best British English). Surrounded by British tradition and lifestyle, it is an ideal environment for language learning.
Are there similar languages courses elsewhere to learn England?
Yes, we offer similar programmes in other historic locations, such as Oxford and Shrewsbury.
How much does a language course in Cambridge City cost ?
A 2-week summer trip including 20 English lessons per week and accommodation in a single room with a host family (half board) costs £1,595. Please note that seasonal prices apply; rates are generally lower outside of the summer months.
When is payment due?
Upon conclusion of the contract, a deposit of 20% of the total price (minimum £200) is due. The remaining balance must be paid 28 days before your departure.
What additional costs should I expect?
Travel to and from the destination, personal expenses, and—depending on your choice of accommodation—transfer services, extra nights, or other individual add-ons.
What happens on the first day?
On your first day of school, you will take a placement test. You will then be assigned to a class that matches your specific language level.
Who will I meet?
You will meet international participants from many different countries, often students, young professionals, and adults of various ages. It is a great place to make lifelong friendships.
Are bed linen and towels provided?
We are happy to provide you with detailed information regarding the specific amenities of your chosen accommodation prior to booking.
When do the language lessons take place ?
Class schedules vary by course type, season, and local arrangements. Please contact us for specific timing details before you book.
Can I book the language course without accommodation?
Yes, that is possible. We would be happy to provide you with a quote for the course only.
Are the trips suitable for teenagers and students?
The information on this page is intended for adults. Information regarding language trips specifically for teenagers can be found here: Language courses abroad for juniors in Cambridge.
What happens on public holidays when the school is closed?
Schools remain closed on public holidays. As a rule, group lessons missed due to holidays are not rescheduled (this does not apply to one-to-one private tuition). The tour price is not reduced due to public holidays.
Can I be in the same class as my travel partner?
This is usually possible, provided that both participants are at a similar language level.
What are the must-dos in cambridge?
A visit to King´s College Chapel, a punting trip on the River Cam, a stroll through the Botanic garden, shopping at the local market, and a bike tour through the city centre are among the best experiences Cambridge has to offer.
