Our family-run language school in Riga offers the best conditions to learn to speak, write, and understand Russian fluently in just a few weeks in small groups. Participants in our language courses come from all over the world.

Location & facilities:

Our language school is located in a beautiful Art Nouveau building in the centre of Riga. The old town can be reached in 10 minutes on foot. The school is surrounded by many cafés and good restaurants and lies directly next to a lovely park. The school building itself has 7 bright classrooms, a lounge, and a small kitchen.

Organised leisure programme:

Our friendly school team gladly organises museum visits in Riga, guided city tours, or trips to the seaside after courses and on weekends. In the afternoons, painting classes, communal cooking, or game sessions are offered. Also popular are excursions to the baroque palaces of Rundale and Jelgava.

LISA! Language Courses:

• Our courses start every Monday. If the start date falls on a public holiday, the course begins on Tuesday. Courses for beginners start on fixed dates (see calendar).

• Our language courses in Riga are suitable for levels from basic knowledge (A1) to upper intermediate (B2). A basic knowledge of the Cyrillic alphabet is required for all students.

• During your language stay you will live either with a host family or together with other participants in a shared school flat (see Accommodation).

The course schedule:

On the day of arrival of your LISA! Language Course you will move into your accommodation. On the first school day you will be placed into the appropriate level according to your knowledge. This guarantees the best possible learning success. After lessons you will have plenty of time to explore the city. The school offers activities several times a week. The school team is happy to provide tips on going out, shopping, the best cafés, and which festivals are taking place. Everyone can also explore the destination independently. There will always be like-minded companions for excursions. To deepen and practise what has been learned, exchanging with locals is an excellent complement to lessons. Staying with a host family has the advantage of applying what you learn straight away. Shopping and going out offer many opportunities to speak Russian.
