English Language Courses for Students Aged 11 to 17

Our English language courses for students are part of our student language travel programmes in Portsmouth. They take place on selected dates during the summer and combine English lessons with an international learning group and daily life in a residence.

Language courses

Main Course English (11–17 years)

The Main Course is the classic student language course in Portsmouth. It combines structured English lessons with an international learning group and plenty of opportunities to practise English in everyday situations.

• 20 lessons of 45 minutes each per week

• Average of 12 participants, maximum of 15

• Suitable for language levels A1 to C1

English & AI (11–17 years)

This language course offers students with a good level of English (from B1) a different perspective on working with Artificial Intelligence.

• 20 group English lessons of 45 minutes each, plus 6 additional AI group lessons of 45 minutes per week

• Average of 12 participants, maximum of 15

• Suitable for language levels B1 to C1

This varied course shows students how to use AI creatively and in a problem-solving way while improving their English. The lessons include both theoretical and practical elements:

• Speaking, debating and presenting

• Real-life AI projects

• Speaking in front of an audience

Leaders of Tomorrow Course (11–17 years)

This language course offers students with a good level of English (from B1) an alternative to standard language courses. It combines language training with career-oriented learning and personal development.

• 26 group lessons of 45 minutes each per week

• Average of 12 participants, maximum of 15

• Suitable for language levels B1 to C1

Through projects and teamwork, students are introduced to business-related topics. The course includes both theoretical and practical elements:

• Researching, planning and presenting

• Developing convincing arguments

• Using body language and tone of voice effectively

• Speaking in front of an audience

• Creative sales and marketing strategies
