Our language school in Porto is one of the best private institutes in the world. It is located in the heart of the old town, housed in a beautiful Art Nouveau building. The classrooms have high ceilings, wooden floors, and large, elegant windows. The school is surrounded by restaurants, cafés, and shops. The Douro River is just a 15-minute walk away.


  

Organised Leisure Programme:

Our teachers arrange the leisure programme during the week as well as at weekends, ensuring that our students practise communicating in Portuguese from morning to night.
 

LISA! Language Courses:

• Our language trips start every Monday. If the course start falls on a public holiday, lessons begin on Tuesday. Beginner courses start once a month (see calendar).

• Our language trips in Porto are suitable for all levels, from complete beginners (A1) to near-native speakers (C2).

• During your language trip, you will stay with a host family (see accommodation).

Portuguese & Surfing:

The surfing course takes place at a professional surf school directly on Praia de Matosinhos, only about 20 minutes from our language school. The course includes a total of 4 surfing lessons of 90 minutes each per week, held in the afternoons after language classes or at weekends. Surfboard, wetsuit, insurance, and a hot shower are included.
 

How Your Language Trip Works:

On the day of arrival for your LISA! language trip, you will move into your accommodation. On the first day of school, you will take a placement test and be assigned to the appropriate level, guaranteeing optimal learning progress. After class, you will have plenty of time to explore the city. The school offers weekly activities, and the staff are happy to provide tips on where to go out, shop, find the best coffee, and which festivals are happening. You can also discover the city on your own, and there will always be fellow students to join you on your adventures. Speaking with locals is an excellent way to reinforce and practise what you have learned. Staying with a host family has the advantage of being able to apply your new skills straight away. Shopping and going out provide many opportunities to practise speaking Portuguese.
