At our language school in Rouen, our language students learn in a pleasant atmosphere and have the opportunity to quickly put their newly acquired language skills into practice in everyday life in the many cafés and shops in the neighbourhood.

Location & facilities:

The modern language school is located in a quiet neighbourhood in Rouen near the Botanical Gardens. The old town centre is a 25-minute walk away. The 12 classrooms are bright and friendly. There are French cafés, boutiques and shops in the immediate vicinity of the language school. The school is a popular teaching centre for professionals and students. Free WLAN is available within the language school.
 

Organised leisure programme:

Our friendly school team will be happy to organise group tours of Rouen after your language lessons and excursions to Le Havre, Mont-Saint-Michel, Veules-Les-Roses, Giverny, Bayeux, Deauville or Etretat at the weekend.

LISA! Language courses:

• Our language courses start every Monday. If the course starts on a public holiday, the course starts on Tuesday (see calendar).

• Lessons in Rouen consist of the language course in the morning and, depending on the course booked, additional lessons after midday. From 4.15 p.m. every day (Monday to Friday), 'clubs' are offered, i.e. additional lessons that deal with film, literature or theatre, for example.

• Our language holidays in Rouen are suitable for levels from beginner (A1) to almost native speaker (C2).

• During your language study trip, you will stay in selected accommodation, with a host family or in a studio (see accommodation).

• In France, we offer language courses for students during the summer holidays. Information on our supervised French language courses for children and teenagers can be found under Language holidays for schoolchildren in France.

French & Cuisine:

At our language school in Rouen, our students have the opportunity to combine their French language course with a pastry course. The course focuses on the special production of French pastries, such as macarons, eclairs, choux pastry, fraisier and the Normandy apple tart. The cookery course starts on Monday afternoon with an introduction. The course then takes place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 14:30 to 17:30.

Language and culture trip:

Our cultural trip to Rouen is aimed particularly at course participants aged 50 and over. Together with course participants of different nationalities and mostly of your own age, you will learn French and expand your knowledge. Our leisure programme is varied and includes various excursions and visits. The course price includes four excursions/activities per week.

The programme of your language course:

On the day you arrive at your LISA! language course, you will arrive at your accommodation. On the first day of school, you will be divided into levels according to your level of knowledge. In this way, we guarantee optimum learning success. After the course, you will have enough time to explore the city. The school organises activities several times a week. The school team will be happy to give you tips on where to go out and shop, where to get the best coffee and which festival is currently taking place. Everyone can also explore the holiday destination on their own. There will always be like-minded people with whom you can go on a voyage of discovery. Interacting with the locals is also an excellent way of consolidating and practising what you have learnt in addition to language lessons. The advantage of staying with a host family is that you can practise what you have learnt straight away. There are plenty of opportunities to speak French when shopping and going out.

We offer the following exam preparation courses at our language school in Rouen: Preparation for the language certificate Diplôme d' Etudes en Langue Française (D.E.L.F.) as well as for the certificate Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française (D.A.L.F.).

• The D.E.L.F. exam course is available from level A1, the D.A.L.F. course is available from language level C1.
