to its rich history.

Seville

Seville is the city of orange trees, they grow everywhere and start bearing fruit in Spring. Seville's climate and beautiful environment bring the best out of everybody. The magnificent architecture of Seville, influenced by the long rule of the Moors, includes the Giralda cathedral, a great symbol of the city. In the maze of alleyways, there are countless tapas bars just waiting to be discovered.

The school

Our language school is situated in the middle of the maze of alleyways of Seville and although you are in the heart of the city, it is remarkably quiet and peaceful. The school building is historic and has been fully and tastefully renovated to ensure the comfort of its students.
All tutors are qualified, experienced and specialise in teaching Spanish as a foreign language. All group courses include 2 leisure activities per week, for example sightseeing tours, cookery classes, wine tastings, dancing lessons or DVD evenings. The course material is not included in the price and costs an extra £ 20.

Sightseeing in Seville

Seville is at the heart of Andalusian culture, the centre of flamenco and bull fights. It is also the home of many famous people: Don Juan started out from here to conquer the hearts of ladies around the world, Columbus left for the New World from a port not far from Seville. Prosper Merimée's Carmen, who could not decide between Don Jose and Torero Escamillo, worked in Seville’s old tobacco factory. This building is now Seville’s university.

We recommend a visit to the historic quarter of Seville, Barrio Santa Cruz, which used to be the part of town inhabited by Moors and Jews. It has many of Seville’s most important buildings, e.g. Seville Cathedral, the third largest cathedral in the world. It has a long history from its Roman foundations to its Gothic temple, parts of which can still be seen today. Over the centuries, the Moors erected a mosque and the site was reclaimed by Christians in the 11th century, when the cathedral was built, as can be seen today. When the tower Giraldar was built, it was the highest building in the world and it offers marvellous views on the town. Seville’s old tobacco factory was made famous by the opera Carmen. In 1929, it was turned into Seville university.
We recommend a visit to Cartija Island which has been used as an area of exhibition for the world famous EXPO exhibition. It has large gardens and lakes. The Cartija cloisters is home to the grave of Christopher Columbus. The exhibition area is now used for concerts, theatres and films.
In the evening, we recommend a visit to Barrio Santa Cruz, home to various bars which offer excellent tapas and wines. The Parque de Maria Luisa offers traditional dance music until the early hours of the morning.
