San Sebastian, the former summer residence of the Spanish royal family is very popular with wealthy people and genuine lovers of Spain due to its green avenues, fabulous tapas and magical nightlife. It is the most upmarket location in our programme. The beach is in the middle of the city and the refreshing and salty aroma of the sea breeze embraces the whole area.
The school
Our quality language school with its qualified academic teaching staff
enjoys an excellent reputation in Spain The 7 classrooms are housed in
a classical building with arcades and balconies. The School is only a
few minutes from the beach and the old part of town - simply the perfect
location for a language school.
The tutors are highly qualified and teach Spanish as a foreign language
with a lot of enthusiasm.

Sightseeing in San Sebastian
San Sebastian in the Basque region is a very temperamental location. It is the culinary capital of Spain. The locals in San Sebastian have a greater choice of bars and restaurants than anywhere else in the world. People here know how to dine!
The heart of the town is the Constitucion Place where you will notice
a multitude of balconies. These date from the Middle Ages when the place
was used for bull fights. It is now home of the library and the town’s
historical archives. The cafes and bars invite visitors and locals to
relax, both during the day and at night. We also recommend a visit to
San Telmo Museum which used to be a cloister and was later used as artillery
barracks.
Berencha Market used to be a traditional fish market. It is now a large
shopping and entertainment centre. Of course, you will still find market
stalls with fresh produce.
We recommend a visit to the Victoria Eugenia Theatre, home of glamour
and stage for many famous actors. It is now used for concerts.
To relax, we recommend a walk along La Concha Promenade which leads on
from the old part of town. The beach is ideal for swimming.
The Igeldo Mountain offers fantastic views as well as various attractions,
e.g. El Rio Misterioso, Mini Zoo or Casa de la Risa.
In the evening, we recommend a visit to the various pubs and discos.
Our school organises excursions to the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao and
wine tastings in La Rioja.
Accommodation
Flat share (FS): In double rooms (DR) or single rooms (SR) in a Spanish private flat. Shared kitchen, bath and WC. Please note our special summer prices.
Shared school-flat: Can only be booked from July till September. Single (SR) or double room (DR) with shared bathroom/WC and kitchen.
Family: Choice of double (DR) or single room (SR) with
half board (HB).
All accommodation: Average distance from the
school: 20 minutes on foot. Double rooms can only be booked by
two people booking and travelling together.

Exam Courses
At our language school in San Sebastian, we offer the following course: preparation for the D.E.L.E.
Please note:
- You can take the D.E.L.E. course in San Sebastian from a lower intermediate level (A2) of Spanish.
- The exams normally take place in the last week of the course, therefore we can only offer limited teaching in that week.
- You must pay the exam fee while in San Sebastian. Please consult the table regarding how much the exam fee will cost.

Travel
We recommend that you book a flight to Bilbao, San Sebastian or Biarritz. There is a bus connection from Bilbao airport to San Sebastian, which takes about an hour and a half and costs around £ 15. The bus goes every hour between 7am and 22:45pm. The bus from San Sebastian the other way goes every hour from 5am to 9pm. Alternatively, you can book the school’s transfer service (please note that no transfer service is avaiable between 21:00 pm and 06:30 am).
