Denia
Around 33,000 people live in the colourful town of Denia, where impressive townhouses were constructed using the profits made from the dried fruit trade in the 18th and 19th centuries. Denia lies between Alicante and Valencia. Summers here are pleasantly warm and the winters are mild.
In Denia, you'll find clean, mile-long beaches. Denia has been awarded the Blue Flag for its exemplary water quality. The food found in the restaurants of Costa Blanca's gastronomical capital is superb. You'll find the Spanish staple of paella, fresh fish and good wine here. The landmark of historic Denia is the feudal castle above the town. Along 'Marqués de Campo' or 'Paseo del Saladar', you'll find a big choice of both fashionable clothes shops and blacksmiths. Fresh vegetables and Mediterranean specialities are to be found at 'Mercado Municipal'. Almost every month, Denia plays host to religious and traditional celebrations.
