Barcelona has been recommended as the most trendy place in Spain by lifestyle magazines for the past few years and is becoming more and more cosmopolitan. Even under Franco's dictatorship, Barcelona was the only city that was open to the west, especially to France.
Along with unique artwork by Gaudi and Miro, there are wonderful cafes, restaurants and markets that give this beachside city its particularly attractive atmosphere. At night, the whole population seems to be out and all help to create Barcelona's unique nightlife – learn Spanish in this fantastic metropolis!
The School
Our language school is right in the city centre and is run with great personal attention by our director Nicolas. It is just a few minutes away from the Plaza de Cataluña, the central square of the city. The beach is within easy distance — 20 minutes by public transport. All classrooms are air conditioned and equipped with DVD players and TVs. Adults study all levels of Spanish at this school.

Sightseeing in Barcelona
Barcelona is the most industrious and cosmopolitan city in Spain. It
keeps up with all international developments, which is especially visible
in its modern architecture.
Las Ramblas, a boulevard between Plaza de Cataluña and the
port, is a mirror of life in Barcelona: you will find people of all
ages and social backgrounds, flower and vegetable stalls, shoeshine boys
and girls, street theatre performances, galleries, cafes and theatres.
The modern city centre, El Ensanche, was constructed by Cerdá.
It was his intention to create a luxury residential area for the wealthy
bourgeoisie and to enlarge Barcelona to five times its former size. All
streets are constructed in perfect rectangles. The most famous buildings
in Ensanche were created by Antoni Gaudi, of which
the Cathedral Sagrada Famila was one of his last projects. It was
meant to seat 1500 singers, 700 children and 5 organs. However, Gaudi
died before completing his masterpiece and even today the Cathedral,
which is hardly more than a facade at present, is still being built.
We strongly recommend a visit to Park Güell, in which Gaudi created
a fascinating scenery of gardens and larger than life architectural shapes.
We recommend that you start your night out in Santalo-San Gervasi. At the
crossing of Santaló and Mariano Cubi, you will find some very fashionable
clubs. Enjoy the people, good music and drinks.
Barcelona has everything, from all night parties to highbrow culture.

Flat share: Single (SR) or double room (DR) in a private flat. Average distance from the school: 15 minutes by public transport. Double rooms may only be booked by two people booking and travelling together.
Summer residence: Available only in July and August. Single (SR) or double rooms (DR) with breakfast (B&B). Shared bathroom and WC, no cooking facilities. Average distance from the school: 5 minutes' walk. Double rooms may only be booked by two people booking and travelling together.

Exam Courses
At our language school in Barcelona, we offer the following exam preparation course: Preparation for the D.E.L.E exam.
Please note:
- You can only take the D.E.L.E. course in Barcelona from level B1 (intermediate). Enrolment onto this course is subject to a grading test before the course starts.
- The exams normally take place in the last week of the course, therefore we can only offer limited teaching in that week.
- You must pay the exam fee while in Barcelona. Please consult the table regarding how much the exam fee will cost.
