Los Angeles

L.A. is the second largest city in America. It offers glamorous dreams and fantastic reality with its marvellous beaches. Hollywood attracts a variety of people from around the world. With more than 2000 museums, galleries and theatres, it has a vivid cultural scene; countless bars and clubs in the Californian metropolis ensure a fantastic night out. Los Angeles has a mild climate all year round.

The school

Our school is situated in the heart of Beverly Hills, only a few blocks from the famous Rodeo Drive in a part of town that is home to the famous stars’ fashion designers. Santa Monica Beach and Venice Beach can be reached within 20 minutes by public transport. The school is accommodated on the fourth floor of a modern five floor building. All 10 classrooms are bright and welcoming. It also has a lounge, a kitchen with snack bar, a computer room and a small library. All tutors specialise in teaching English as a foreign language. Course books are not included in the price and will cost an extra $120.

Sightseeing in Los Angeles

Los Angeles is the place to be for film fans! Take the ’Walk of Fame’ along Hollywood Boulevard, or visit the various film studios, e.g. Warner Brothers or Paramount. We also recommend a walk through Beverly Hills, the residential area of countless famous stars.

Most of the Pacific beaches are ca. 30 minutes from the town centre. Walk along the beach promenade, enjoy a drink in the beach cafes and watch the street artists. Venise Beach is well known for its small specialised shops. We also recommend Laguna, Malibu und Zuma Beach.
Shopping facilities in Los Angeles are great! Whatever you’re looking for, you’re sure to find it in these places: the shopping centre near the school, Rodeo Drive with its designer shops and art galleries, Downtown along Hill Street with its various clothes shops, or Chinatown with its small souvenir shops.
We also recommend a visit to L.A.’s entertainment parks. Live your dreams in Disneyland, or visit the breath-taking Universal Studios where you will experience the world of Jurassic Park or Back to the Future in simulators.

Griffith Park with its planetarium is situated on the borders of Hollywood. Relax in the Park’s natural environment and enjoy its family attractions such as pony riding or hiking, or visit a scientific exhibition. Griffith Park offers marvellous views on the famous Hollywood sign by day and the bright city lights of L.A. by night.
We also recommend a visit to San Francisco and San Diego, as well as the Grand Canyon, Yosemite National Park, Joshua Tree National Park, and Death Valley. The area offers countless attractions!
To wine lovers, we recommend a trip to one of the famous Californian wine cellars, for example near Napa Valley or Sonoma Valley, north of San Francisco. Many of the approx. 500 wine cellars are open to the public and are pleased to offer some fine wine tastings.
