Edinburgh, like London and Paris, is one of the cities you must visit
at least once in a lifetime! The city is characterised by its castle
and surrounding buildings.
This beautiful city was built on volcanic hills, which is why you will
find a lot of steep curves, steep steps and fascinating views. Although
Edinburgh is smaller than other so-called metropolises, it has a remarkable
culture scene. There are first-class theatres, concert venues and restaurants
as well as a busy pub, club and dance scene. The surrounding landscape
is uniquely impressive. The Highlands can be reached in only a few hours
by car or bus.
The school
Our school is situated in the very heart of the city. The beautiful school building has 12 comfortable classrooms, as well as book and video libraries and a language lab. The school team is very friendly and hospitable. We recommend the Starcourse Plus to young professionals and business students.

Sightseeing in Edinburgh
Edinburgh Castle thrones over the town and
is an ideal starting point for your tour of Edinburgh. The Crown Room
is home to the crowns and swords of Scottish kings.
Shoppers should not fail to visit Princess Street where you are sure
to find all your souvenirs. And after your shopping, why not visit the
other side of the street with its pubs and bars. Don’t forget to
visit the White Hart Inn, Edinburgh’s oldest pub – you can
read about the history of the pub on its wooden benches.

Family: Single room (SR) or double room (DR) with half board (HB), full board at weekends (FB). En-suite in the single room can be booked at an surcharge. Average distance to the school: 25 minutes by public transport.
Residence 1: Single room (SR) or double room (DR) with a shared bath room and a shared kitchen with a washing machine. There is also internet access and lounge with TV, DVD, Radio. Average distance to the school: 15 minutes with public transport.
Residence 2: Only available in July and August. Single room (SR) with private bathroom. Shared kitchen, washing machine, internet access and a lounge with a TV. Average distance to the school: 15 minutes on foot.

Exam Courses
At our language school in Edinburgh, we offer the following exam preparation courses: Preparation for the Cambridge Certificate (FCE, CAE)
Please note:
- To take part in this course, your English must be at an intermediate level (FCE: B1; CAE: B2).
- The exams normally take place in the last week of the course, therefore we can only offer limited teaching in that week.
- You must pay the exam fee while in Edinburgh. Please consult the table regarding how much the exam fee will cost.
- Cambridge Certificates: You will find dates of the written papers (papers 1-3) in the table. According to our previous experience, we have found that the oral exams (papers 4-5) mostly take place a week after the end of the course. which is why the prices may include an extra week’s accommodation. As it is possible that the dates may be postponed, we recommend that you opt for a flexible flight reservation.
