Sightseeing in Cape Town
Cape Town is one of the most important harbours and industrial towns
in South Africa and is also thought of as of the 'bottom of the Earth'.
Cape Town is one of the most important harbours and industrial towns
in South Africa.
We recommend a visit to the oldest building in town, the Castle of Good
Hope, as well as the Dutch Church and the old Town Hall.
The Castle of Good Hope was made a national memorial in 1936. It is now
home to the South African army, as well as the Castle Military Museum.
Open daily.
We also recommend a visit to the Parliament, the South African Museum,
the South African National Gallery and the South African Library, and
of course, the Cape of Good Hope.

We strongly recommend a visit to Table Mountain, the symbol of Cape Town.
The summit of this famous mountain offers fantastic views. It can be
visited by cable railway or of course you can climb up to the summit!
Victoris Wharf is famous for shopping. It is a modern shopping centre ideal for
souvenirs. You will also find lots of bars, pubs and restaurants.
The most important museum in South Africa is Robben Island, the prison island
where Nelson Mandela had to spend 18 years in prison. Today, the island has an
information centre which shows what prisons used to be like.
All around Cape town you will find vineyards which produce some of the best wines
in the world. Of course we would recommend a wine tasting.
Cape Town is the cultural centre of South Africa. After the end of the Apartheid,
locals went back to their cultural roots and developed a new cultural scene
which can be found in concerts, galleries, exhibitions, clubs and theatres.

Exam courses
At our language school in Cape Town, we offer the following exam preparation courses: Preparation for the IELTS, TOEFL and Cambridge Certificate (FCE, CAE, CPE) exams:
Please note:
- You can only take these courses if your English is at an intermediate level (IELTS: B2; TOEFL: B2; FCE: B1; CAE: B2; CPE: C2). Enrolment onto the preparation course is subject to a grading test before the course begins.
- The exams normally take place in the last week of the course, therefore we can only offer limited teaching in that week.
- You can register for the TOEFL and IELTS exams beforehand on the internet.
IELTS: Registration for the IELTS exam must be completed at the latest 2 months in advance at www.ielts.org, where you can find the registration form as well as further information.
TOEFL: The exam date must be booked 3 months in advance at www.ets.org.uk/toefl - Cambridge Certificates: You will find dates of the written papers (papers 1-3) in the table. According to our previous experience, we have found that the oral exams (papers 4-5) mostly take place a week after the end of the course. which is why the prices may include an extra week’s accommodation. As it is possible that the dates may be postponed, we recommend that you opt for a flexible flight reservation.
- You must pay the exam fee while in Cape Town. Please consult the table regarding how much the exam fee will cost.
