Cambridge

Cambridge is a beautiful city on the River Cam, characterised by its beautiful medieval buildings, universities and parks. Just an hour on the train from London, Cambridge is one of the two oldest university towns in Britain and has been home to many Royals during their university studies. The River Cam and its beautiful bridges invite visitors from around the world to go “punting“ in a traditional boat and to see the city from the water – a very romantic experience. You'll definitely want to rent a bicycle during your stay – nearly all the residents get around by cycling!

The school
Our marvellous Victorian school building is situated in the city centre. All 22 classrooms are bright and welcoming. It has a garden, a cafeteria and a language lab. Course participants from all over the world study English at this school. All tutors are qualified and use creative teaching methods.

Sightseeing in Cambridge
Cambridge offers visitors a multitude of places of interest. We strongly recommend that you take part in a guided tour of one of the Colleges (not available during exam periods) and also visit the Fitzwiliam Museum, which is home to some marvellous pieces of art and antiques.

Newmarket, the home of horseracing, is nearby and a must for horse lovers.
The river Cam and its punts will invite you to join a relaxing river
tour of Cambridge.
For lovers of fine wines we recommend a visit to Chilford Hall Vineyard & Winery
in Linton, which is open to visitors every weekend. A guided tour will
explain the production of wine and the highlight of which is a wine tasting.

Exam Courses
At our language school in Cambridge, we offer the following exam preparation courses: Preparation for the Cambridge Certificate (FCE, CAE), the TOEIC and IELTS.
Please note:
- You must have at least an intermediate level of English to go on this course (FCE: B1; CAE: B2; IELTS: B2). Enrolment onto the preparation course is subject to a grading test before the course starts.
- The exams normally take place in the last week of the course, therefore we can only offer limited teaching in that week.
- You can complete the IELTS exam registration beforehand on the
internet.
IELTS: Exam registration should be completed a few weeks before at www.ielts.org, where you can find the application form and further information. - You must pay the exam fee while in Cambridge. Please consult the table regarding how much the exam fee will cost.
- Cambridge Certificates: You will find dates of the written papers (papers 1-3) in the table. According to our previous experience, we have found that the oral exams (papers 4-5) mostly take place a week after the end of the course. which is why the prices may include an extra week’s accommodation. As it is possible that the dates may be postponed, we recommend that you opt for a flexible flight reservation.
