French Courses in France:
Come to our French language school and learn French in
Montpellier
Montpellier
Montpellier is a young and lively university town which enjoys a mild
climate all year round. Many students who have learnt French with LISA!
in Montpellier come back year after year!
The sun shines almost continuously and the endless sandy beaches of the
Mediterranean are just a few kilometres away. The historic town centre
with its picturesque narrow alleyways, its elegant patrician houses dating
from the 16th century, and its typically French street cafes, is home
to countless summer festivals. Nightlife in Montpellier is exciting and
varied.
Montpellier's advantageous location between the Provence, the Cevennes,
the Camargue and the Pyrenees, offers an enormous choice of excursions.
This area of Southern France has remained original and is not overcrowded
with tourists, a real French treasure!
The school
Our language school is situated in the centre of the historical old
town in a magnificent 18th century patrician house. It is under French
and German quality control and is one of the leading language schools
in Montpellier.
It offers quality language courses of the highest level as well as modern
equipment (e.g. flat screen monitors for free internet access in the
school).
The teaching methods are ideal for students of all levels, from young
professionals and college students to people who want to refresh their
knowledge and take a holiday at the same time.

LISA! Quality Mark
Recognised language school (e.g. by the Maison de la France and the
Montpellier Chamber of Commerce). Member of IALC. International classes,
great location. Preparation for D.E.L.F. / D.A.L.F.
Travelling tip: The cost of
living in Montpellier is relatively low, and the school is very popular
for long-term courses (from 8 weeks duration).
The sea is very near to the school and the location is blessed with sunshine
almost all year round. The old part of town is home to a variety of
restaurants and bars. The region of Languedoc-Roussillon is famous
for a wide selection
of cheeses and excellent wine. We recommend a visit to the vineyards
and cheese makers.
Sightseeing in Montpellier
Montpellier, capital of the Languedoc-Roussillon region, is only
a few kilometres from the Mediterranean. Montpellier has a modern university,
the locals are culturally and intellectually active and above all,
very welcoming.
Montpellier university’s medical faculty is one of the oldest and
most renowned in France. The Cathedral St Pierre which is built like
a castle and has survived many religious wars is next to the university.
La Place Jean Jaures in the town centre is the most lively place in Montpellier.
It has a fruit, clothes and jewellery market in the morning. In the
evenings, it is used as an outdoor patio by the surrounding cafes.
The Promenade du Peyrou offers marvellous views on the Garrigues and
the Cevennes as well as the sea. It also has an aqueduct, St Clement,
and a Chateau d’eau. The Promenade des Arceaux hosts a provencal
market on Saturdays.
Montpellier’s modern architecture is well worth mentioning. We
recommend a visit to Port Marianne or Antigone by Ricardo Bofill.
Montpellier’s suburbs are characterised by elegant castles called
Folies which were built by rich citizens and by the aristocracy as Summer
residences.
In the evening, we recommend a visit to the Place de la Comédie
in the heart of the city. It has various pubs, music pavilions, cinemas
and an opera.

We also recommend a visit to the castle of Carcassonne, which according
to UNESCO is a major cultural heritage. Nîmes is one of the oldest
and most beautiful towns in France. Avignon, famous for its ‘pont’,
is not far from Montpellier either.
