This French University town is high up in the Alps, 300m above sea level.
The charismatic town with its lively cafes and restaurants, its narrow
alleyways and typically French houses, offers the right atmosphere to
learn French and to experience the French way of living. The charming
countryside with its vineyards, lakes, forests and castles is beautiful
and enchanting. The surrounding area is perfect for trips in summer and
winter (snowboarding, skiing or sledging).
The school
Our language school is renowned for teaching French. It is housed
in a magnificent castle and is surrounded by green parkland. It has 5
classrooms, a TV and a computer room, as well as, a language lab. Students
and professionals from all over the world study within this beautiful ambience.
This school is well suited for beginners, who intend to learn French in a very
short time. We also recommend this location for long-term students (courses
for 8 weeks or longer).

Sightseeing in Chambéry
This small university town is situated in the French Alps. During the
winter months, it offers skiing slopes and in the summer, the mountains
are ideal for hiking – enjoy the view from the Croix du Nivolet.
The lakes in the surrounding area are ideal for swimming, sunbathing
and relaxing. They can be reached by car or by bike. Wild water rafting
and paragliding is also possible. We recommend a visit to Jean-Jacque Rousseau’s house in Chambéry,
which can be visited every day except for bank holidays.
We also recommend a visit to the Château des Ducs de Savoie, Château
Caramagne, Château de Buisson-Rond, Cathedrale Saint-François-de-Sales
and the church Saint-Pierre de Lemenc.
In June, Chambéry organises an annual music festival, la Fête
de la Musique. You will find musicians, dancers and singers all over
the town – a must for music lovers and musicians.
We recommend an excursion to Lyon and Annecy, which are only an hour’s
train ride away.
Our school organises excursions, as well as, singing, drama and band workshops.
These are especially suitable for long-term students.

transport.

Travel
We recommend that you book a flight to Geneva or Lyon. There is a train service from
Geneva and from Lyon to Chambery. Please note that the last train from Geneva
to Chambery depart at 18:30 (duration: 2 hours, price ca. £ 16). The last train from Lyon to Chambery depart at 21:15 (duration 1,5 hours,
price £ 16). For further information please look at www.sncf.com. Alternatively you can take a public bus from Lyon airport to Chambery (Satobus,
depart 09:00 to 21:00, duration: 1 hour, price: £ 16).
