Bordeaux
Bordeaux is a beautiful town in the South West of France, in the Aquitaine
region. Most of the buildings date from the 18th century, which makes
the old part of town a unique mixture of listed buildings, green gardens,
cobblestone streets and elegant boulevards.
The town has various restaurants,
cafes and bars. Culture vultures will find the countless museums and exhibitions
as well as the theatre, cinemas and the opera house very interesting.
The vineyards of Bordeaux are the largest in France and famous for their
excellent wines.
The school
Our school is situated in the heart of Bordeaux, surrounded by various
bars, cafes and restaurants. The large 19th century building has been
completely renovated. All 14 classrooms are bright, welcoming and air-conditioned.
There is a rest room and a garden, which can be used at break times.
The school is very popular with students from around the world. The
atmosphere is international and very friendly. The lessons are very
high quality
and all tutors specialise in teaching French as a foreign language.
Lessons are suitable for adults of all ages.
Our school organises excursions
to Biarritz, Bayonne or to the Dune de Pyla. The sea can be reached
by public transport in around an hour.

Sightseeing in Bordeaux
Bordeaux has a huge amount of buildings from the 18th century, as well
as, 10 museums, which portrait Bordeaux’s history of arts and culture.
The old part of town consists of different areas: St Pierre with its
picturesque Place du Parlament and its 15th century well. The city’s
symbol, la Grosse Cloche, is to be found in the area of Saint Eloi. It
is the bell of the former town hall, Belfried.
 The tourist information centre organises guided tours of Bordeaux every
day.
Wine lovers will find the Maison du vin of great interest. It offers information
on all the wines of the region as well as a free wine tasting.
We recommend an excursion to the vineyards around Bordeaux, e.g. in Saint Emillon.
This World Cultural Heritage Site is well worth a visit.
The Atlantic Ocean is about 60 kilometres from Bordeaux. It offers marvellous beaches
and places such as Lacanau or Arcachon, Europe's largest sand dune.
Bordeaux and its surrounding area is a paradise for gourmets. Don’t forget
to taste some of the regional specialities in the city’s various restaurants.

Family: Single room (SR) with half board (HB), full
board at weekends. Average distance from the school: 20 minutes on
foot or
by
public transport.
Residence: (Apart Valley): Single room (SR) or double
room (DR). Equipped with kitchen, bath/ WC, telephone, TV, Internet access
and air-conditioning. Double rooms can only be booked by 2 people booking
and travelling together. Distance from the school: ca. 20 minutes on
foot.
Hotel ***: 3 star hotel in the heart of town. Single
(SR) or double room (DR) with breakfast (B&B). Ensuite bath / WC,
air-conditioning, TV. Double rooms can only be booked by 2 people booking

Travel
We recommend that you book a flight to Bordeaux. There is a shuttle
bus from the airport to the town centre (ca. £ 6, duration:
