General Terms and Conditions

Your booking

These are the terms and conditions set out by Lisa Travel UK, valid for all bookings made with LISA! Travel UK (“we”, “us”, “the company”) by you (“the client”, “the course participant”) regarding schools and other organisations featured in the Lisa Travel UK catalogue. All enrolments are subject to these conditions, which become legally binding on confirmation of acceptance by LISA! Travel UK. LISA! Travel UK reserves the right to withhold confirmation of an enrolment, at its discretion, if such action is deemed necessary in the interests of the client, the agency or the school.

Your contract

Please send your booking form to LISA! Travel UK, Dep. 158, Office 6, Slington House, Rankine Road, Basingstoke RG24 8PH, UK. The contract and booking between LISA! Travel UK and the client are binding when your booking is confirmed in writing by LISA! Travel UK.

Fees

Fees must be paid in full before course commencement.
No compensation, fee reductions, refunds, credit, additional lessons or extension of the course can be given for:

• services or facilities included in the fees and not used
• late entry to or absence or early departure from a course
• lessons replaced by testing and class allocation procedures on course entry dates
• days when schools are closed because of official holidays

Any refunds which are approved can only be made by the office or Representative to whom the fees were originally paid.
LISA! Travel UK reserves the right to make fee adjustments as a result of changes in the exchange rates or statutory taxes.

School regulations

Each school publishes regulations to ensure that the courses run smoothly. Acceptance of and compliance with these regulations, and with the law of the country in which the school is located, are contractual obligations on the part of the client.
Whenever LISA! Travel UK accepts the enrolment of a client below the minimum age specified for the course or below the age of 16 years, however the person enrolling the course participant accepts responsibility for his or her conduct, security and well-being.

Other services

Where accommodation is shown for one week, this can mean 6 nights from Sunday to Saturday or 7 nights from Sunday to Sunday depending on the school description. There will be no discount for accommodation that was booked by a client but not used. Course materials, examination fees, airport transfers and the cost of activities and excursions are only included in the course price where this is specifically stated. LISA! Travel UK does not take any responsibility for costs incurred by the client, e. g. for bus fares from the accommodation to the school or any of the above. LISA! Travel UK will not refund any monies to a client who applies for a course requiring a specific level and is then found to be unable to join the course after the initial test. In this case, the client will be offered a suitable alternative by the school. In case there are insufficient numbers to run a group class, a reduced number of individual classes may be offered.
Descriptions of activities and excursions which accompany the language courses are for guidance only.

Cancellation

The full amount of course fees is payable 28 days before commencement of the course on receipt of the course confirmation. Bookings made less than 4 weeks before course commencement must be paid in full on receipt of course confirmation. Any other fees, e. g. for cancellations, must be paid on receipt of the invoice. Bank charges are the client’s liability, any charges incurred by LISA! Travel UK are passed on to the client and must be paid immediately. If the full balance of the course fees is not paid by the due date shown on the initial confirmation/invoice, LISA! Travel UK reserves the right to cancel the client’s booking and to impose the cancellation charges (see below) onto the client.
You can cancel your contract with LISA! Travel UK at any time in writing by recorded delivery.
Cancellation fees are as follows:

Language courses:

up to 60 days before course commencement 10%, minimum 140 Pounds
up to 35 days before course commencement 30%, minimum 140 Pounds
up to 21 days before course commencement 50%
up to 10 days before course commencement 60%
up to 4 days before course commencement 70%
3 days or less before course commencement 90%

In the absence of a written notice of cancellation, the course fees will be retained by LISA! Travel UK in full.

Person in your place

Up until the course commencement, it is possible for somebody else to take the course instead of yourself. LISA! Travel UK reserves the right to reject this person if he/she does not meet the course or any legal requirements. The handling charge for this is £ 70. Should there be any other costs, e. g. airport pickup for courses which do not include this service, a separate charge will be made.

Booking alterations

You may alter your booking subject to availability up to 21 days before the start of your journey. Booking alterations may only be made once and are subject to an alteration fee of £70. Booking alterations which are made less than 21 days before the start of your journey or repeated booking alterations are classed as a booking cancellation and a new booking and booking cancellation fees (as stated above) will be used for calculating booking alteration fees. Should you wish to cancel a booking after it has been altered, we will charge cancellation fees for the original booking if these are higher than cancellation fees of your amended booking.

Cancellation by LISA! Travel UK

If a client does not comply with the terms and conditions set out by any of our schools/tours/trips, LISA! Travel UK reserves the right to cancel the contract with immediate effect (e. g. for racism, verbal abuse of staff or other course participants, drug abuse, etc.), in which case, course fees will not be reimbursed. Possible surcharges, e. g. additional airport transfer charges, will be invoiced to the client.
Should you decide not to utilise services booked with any of our schools/tours/ trips after the commencement of your course/tour/trip there will be no reimbursement of fees.

Guarantee

Should you find fault with the services provided by LISA! Travel UK, you must declare your claim to the Director of LISA! Travel UK during your course period. Any claims made after the end of your course/tour/trip will not be recognized. In the event of a justified claim, the Director reserves the right to make adequate reimbursement.

Passport, visa, customs and health restrictions

It is each course participant’s responsibility to keep to these restrictions. Non-compliance with these regulations and any costs that might be incurred due to this are the course participant’s responsibility.
Anyone who needs a visa for entry into the country of their course/tour/trip choice must declare this to LISA! Travel UK at the time of booking and it is the course participant’s sole responisbility to obtain the required documents. If a client has made a reasonable effort to obtain a visa for their country of course choice and has not obtained the visa after their application to the embassy concerned, LISA! Travel UK will keep a handling fee of £ 150.00 and return the remainder of your payment less bank charges on receipt of the official refusal document from the embassy concerned.

Insurance

LISA! Travel UK, its Representatives and staff will not be liable for any loss, damage, illness or injury to persons or property however caused.
It is the client’s responsibility to take out personal insurance against all such risks, including inability to attend or continue a course and insurance for the payment of medical expenses.
LISA! Travel UK reserve the right to refuse to accept bokings from clients who are not adequately insured againt holiday risks.
The standard holiday insurance organised by LISA! Travel UK is strongly recommended. Clients not taking this insurance must provide evidence of adequate alternative insurance at the time of booking.

Unavoidable circumstances

It shall be a fundamental condition of the contract between LISA! Travel UK or its Representatives that neither shall, in any way, be liable to the client in the event of any contracted service becoming impossible to supply by reason of force majeure, e. g. war, civil strife, industrial dispute or any other cause outside their control.

Gift Vouchers

You will be able to use gift vouchers purchased through www.eventa.co.uk or LISA! Language Travel under our normal terms and conditions. In the unlikely event that LISA! Travel has no availability for a certain location / date, we will suggest another location / date of higher or equal value. No refunds will be given. It is the purchasing client’s responsibility to make sure that the voucher beneficiary is able to travel and has all the necessary documents, i.e., passport, visa, travel insurance, etc. Vouchers will be valid as stated on the gift voucher. Any additional upgrades are subject to availability and are charged at the normal rate as shown on our website www.lisa-travel.co.uk.

Validity of Conditions

These conditions of booking are valid from 01 August 2006.
