Language trips for students

Join a LISA! language trip – you’ll spend your holidays in some of the most beautiful places in Europe, get to know new cultures & lifestyles and learn a language quickly.

Most of our course locations are seaside resorts, some schools even have a private swimmingpool. After school, you can meet up and enjoy your free time, go to the beach, go shopping, take part in some fantastic leisure activities or just relax and get ready for partying.

Your team leaders

Each school has a team of people who look after you. Team leaders are enthusiastic, great fun, and, to give your parents peace of mind, trained and qualified. They know exactly how to make the most of your holiday, they’ll guide you through your leisure programme, show you around the town and organise your party nights.

Your language course

Forget your school/college! It’s important for you to go to school/college, but the lessons you’re used to are nothing like tuition at our language schools abroad. You’ll be surrounded by the language you’re learning 24/7, you’ll learn new vocabulary in no time and be a lot more successful at studying the language in general.
Quite often, teenagers who had problems at school/college come home from a LISA! school speaking the language fluently.

Your leisure programme

Our courses include a varied leisure programme after lessons. You will join the other course participants and your team leaders on the beach for parties, discos and sports activities. Some courses include weekend excursions to some fantastic places, e. g. London, Monaco, etc.

Why learn a language?

In order to be successful in today’s job market, you won’t get very far without speaking different languages. The internet and globalisation is bringing people from all corners of the world together so if you speak other languages, you’ll have much better chances to be successful in life – no matter if you intend to work for a British or for an international company.
In fact, some linguists say that by the year 2050, there will be more people in the world speaking Spanish or Chinese than English.

Better results!

Our school teams will be happy to advise you on how to improve your marks at school or college. Our tutors are experts and have helped thousands of students through their school/college exams. For more information, please contact our helpline.

Exams coming up

GCSEs, A-Levels or other exams coming up? Our tutors will show you how to achieve the best results for any exam you want to take. We recommend preparation courses for French exams in Nice or in Montpellier (minimum age 16) and Italian courses in Salerno (minimum age 16).

Information for Parents

Dear Parents!

Remember you dear little one’s first words, their first steps, their first day at school? Now they’re teenagers, they are supposed to get good results at school/college, be good citizens, speak languages and embark on a successful career. You can’t help them with everything, but our advice is to let them travel, let them see the world.
Nothing is of more importance for your child than the experiences they can make on a language trip, to see a different country, experience a different culture, meet people from around the world and learn an invaluable lesson for life. It won't just help with their results at school/college but also prepare them for an increasingly global job market.

LISA! quality

Our schools have been teaching youngsters for many years, using the latest methods and resources. We do not run mass tourism, sending hundreds of coaches full of teenagers abroad.
Course participants at our schools come from all over the world. This enhances the learning experience and makes a language trip even more interesting. Please contact our staff who will be happy to offer their advice.

LISA! tutors

Our tutors are native speakers and academics who specialise in teaching youngsters. Even beginners will be able to understand their tutor straight away and will discover how much fun it is to learn a language.

Test

On the first day at school all learners will be given a test. This will show each learner's level of the language and also reveal any gaps that need to be filled.

Chaperone service

Your children will be looked after by our professional school teams and by their host families (please see school descriptions for further details). Our staff is very conscientious and reliable. They know how you as parents would like your children to be looked after, they will lay down limits where necessary and give your children the best care possible.

Insurance

We recommend you to take out travel insurance for your child which covers sickness as well as loss of luggage, etc. It is a condition of booking that you must have insurance cover at least equivalent to that described in our ETI policy. If you do not buy our recommended insurance you must inform us at the time of booking of the
name and address of your insurance company and the policy number or sign our holiday insurance indemnity form.
The insurance we recommend is provided by ETI International Travel Protection and covers you for emergency medical costs, personal accident, cancellation, travel delay, missed departure, personal possessions, personal liability as well as
legal costs and expenses for bodily injury.
For further information and to take out travel insurance with LISA! UK, please contact our staff who will be happy to give you all the information and advice you need.

Pocket money

Tuition and learning is the most important part of a language trip. However, dear parents, please don't forget that your child may want to buy an ice cream, go shopping, or need other personal items. We recommend to calculate £ 59 – £ 118 pocket money per week (please see school descriptions for further details).

Our courses

Standard & Intensive Course: This course is for teenagers starting from the age of 11 (14 at some schools, please see school descriptions for further details). The aim of our main course is to prepare students for their language lessons at home and to improve their grades. The course includes listening comprehension, grammar and free speaking.

Exam Course: This course is for students from the age of 17 and will give invaluable preparation for examinations (A-Levels, etc.). Emphasis is put on intensive tuition rather than leisure activities, although students will still be able to enjoy their course locations.
