The city of Cusco was built by Spanish colonialists on the foundations
of Inca temples and palaces, 3400 metres above sea level. The area around
the Plaza de Armas comes to life at midday when the world famous Peruvian
street musicians help create a unique atmosphere. In the arcades you
can buy goods made from alpaca wool and sold by Indian women.
Our students love to immerse themselves into the atmosphere, sit in the
square and learn a few words of the enchanting Quechua language, which
is still spoken by children and adults.

The city is also a top destination for backpackers travelling through South America. The lost city of the Incas, Machu Picchu, which remained hidden from the Spanish conquistadors in spite of many attempts to discover it, is located in the Andes, only 112 kilometres from Cusco and can be reached by train (an extraordinary experience) or on foot by the Inca path. It's an exhausting but worthwhile experience!
Our school is situated in a colonial building in the heart of the city. The German-Peruvian school team are eager to make you feel at home as quickly as possible. The tutors are fully trained to teach Spanish as a foreign language and they organise many activities to help you practice your Spanish for quick results. For example, in the afternoons students have the opportunity to practice their conversation skills with a selected Peruvian partner. Social events include Salsa lessons, cookery classes, as well as cultural trips and events.

Study Spanish in Peru: This school, recommended by the German Ambassadorial team in Peru, is aimed at all ages. The school is a member of the organisation TANDEM.

Cusco, capital of the Incas in Peru, has some marvellous monuments and
relics. The town is surrounded by archaeological treasures such as the
citadel of Machu Picchu. Little is known about the original purpose of this mystical site.
The centre of Cusco, all around the Plaza de Armas, is home to various
shops and restaurants. The area is ideal for buying silver jewellery,
textiles and alpaca wool.
The evening entertainment is very traditional and you are sure to find
a restaurant with music and dance performances. There are cafes, pubs,
discos and pizzerias.
Our school organises salsa courses, cookery courses and film evenings.
