The city of Salerno is on the sea, near the Amalfi Coast and Pompeii,
which gives Salerno a sunny, mild and pleasant climate and temperature
all year round. The charismatic old part of town with its maze of little
alleyways, dates back to Roman times. The surrounding hills offer stunning
views of the sea and countryside.
Gardens full of lemon trees provide the city with bright, fresh colours.
Because of its exclusive location, far away from foreign tourists, you will
have the opportunity to meet the lively and fun-loving people of Salerno
and you will therefore be able to put your language skills into practice from day one. This is easy and fun to do, as you will find something
interesting to talk about and someone pleasant to talk to at every corner.
The Via Roma with its large choice of cafés, restaurants and ice cream parlours is a popular meeting place for young people in the evening. The cost of living in this region is lower than in the north of Italy. We recommend a weekend trip to the island of Capri.
The school
Our school is one of the most modern and beautiful language schools in Italy. It is situated in an elegant old town house in the centre of the city, close to the beach.
The building has been tastefully renovated and benefits from a pleasant summer temperature. The school has 14 air-conditioned classrooms and a lounge. All tutors specialise in teaching Italian as a foreign language and use modern teaching equipment.

The school is accredited as an official test centre for the CELI and CIC certificates. All our teachers are native-speakers and specialists in the teaching of Italian as a foreign language.
Sightseeing in Salerno
Salerno offers an ideal mixture of modern and traditional life and culture. It was founded by the Etruscans and has gained much more importance as a port and business centre in recent times.
The main attraction is its Cathedral, which dates from the 11th century and is home to the tomb of Pope Gregor VII. The Cathedral has been restored and its Baroque features have partly been opened up so visitors
can see the original Norman features. It also holds the remains of the
Apostle Matthew.
We highly recommend a walk along the Via Roma: one of the most beautiful
streets in Salerno. It has various restaurants, bars and discos. In
the mornings, it hosts a fruit, vegetable and fish market.
To relax, visit the gardens of Minerva.

Family: Double (DR) or single room (SR) with breakfast (B&B) or half board (HB). The average distance from school: 15 minutes on foot.
Flat share: Course participants and Italian students share a basic flat with kitchen, bathroom/WC. You can book a single (SR) or a double room (DR) with self-catering. The superior rooms offer a fantastic view over the Sea as well as an ensuite bathroom/WC, air conditioning, TV, Internet access and a minibar. Average distance from the school: 20 minuten on foot. Minimum age: 18 years old.

Language and Culture Course
Our Language and Culture Course in Salerno is particularly aimed at participants over the age of 50. Together with adults from different countries and in your age group, you can learn Italian in small groups and expand your knowledge in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. As well as the language course, you can enjoy our attractive activity programme, which includes cooking lessons, a city tour of Salerno and excursions into the surrounding area.
You will be accommodated either by a host family in a single (SR) or double (DR) room with breakfast (B&B), in a self-catering studio in a single (SR) or double (DR) room, or in a hotel in a single (SR) or double (DR) room with breakfast (B&B). Exam Courses
At our language school in Salerno, we offer the following exam preparation courses: preparation for the Certificazione di Italiano come Lingua Straniera (C.I.L.S.), Certificazione dell' Italiano Commerciale (CIC) and the Certificato Linguistico (CELI)
Please note:
- You can only take part in these exam courses if you have at least a lower intermediate level of Italian (CILS: A2; CELI: A2; CIC: B2). Enrolment is subject to a grading test before the course starts.
- Course registration must be completed 4 weeks before the starts at the latest.
- The exams normally take place in the last week of the course, therefore we can only offer limited teaching in that week.
- You must pay the exam fee while in Salerno. Please consult the table regarding how much the exam fee will cost.
