Oxford incorporates the old charm of its university's heritage with the modern ambience of a university city. The magnificent historic buildings boast an impressive architecture, a marvellous environment to study English. There are lots of cafes, fashion boutiques, cinemas, theatres, and almost as many museums as pubs and restaurants. Also, London is only an hour away.

The school

Our modern school building is in the heart of Oxford. Queen Street, Oxford’s high street, is only a few metres away. The world-famous Ashmolean Museum is only a few minutes walk away. The 17 well-lit and welcoming classrooms offer an ideal learning atmosphere. The school also has a study room with computers, books and current magazines and newspapers too. The teachers specialise in teaching English as a foreign language and cater for all language levels.There are course participants from all over the world.

Sightseeing in Oxford

Oxford is a famous university city, well-known for its history. It attracts visitors with its well-balanced mix of old and modern.
Oxford is home to the oldest museum in Great Britain, the Ashmolean, a museum for arts and archaeology. Public presentations on a particular painting or piece of art are held every Wednesday.
We also recommend a visit to Blenheim Palace, built at the beginning of the 18th century, which is now used for various events and both, palace and gardens can be visited. If you are interested in visiting one of Oxford’s various colleges, please make sure to check opening times beforehand.

In the evening, we recommend a visit to one of Oxford’s many bars, pubs, cafes and restaurants where you are certain to meet English as well as international students.

Accommodation

Family: Single (SR) or double room (DR) with breakfast (B&B) or half board (HB). Average distance from the school: 30 minutes by public transport. Double rooms can only be booked by 2 people booking and travelling together.

Residence 1: Available from July to August. Single room (SR) with private bathroom. Shared kitchen, lounge, W-Lan. Average distance from the school: 20 minutes by public transport. Minimum age: 18 years.

Shared school-flat (student house): Available for a minimum stay of 4 weeks. Self-catering single room (SR) with shared bathroom/WC, shared kitchen, lounge, WiFi. Average distance from the school: 20 minutes on foot or 10 minutes by public transport. Minimum age: 18 years.

Residence 2 (24.07.-17.09.): Ensuite single room (SR) and shared kitchen. High-speed internet access is available for an extra charge. Average distance from the school: 10 minutes on foot. Minimum age: 18 years.

Exam Courses

At our language school in Oxford, we offer the following exam preparation courses: Preparation for the Cambridge Certificate (FCE, CAE), TOEFL, TOEIC and IELTS.

Please note:

• Your English must be at least at an intermediate level: FCE: B2; CAE: C1; IELTS: B1; TOEFL: B1; TOEIC: B1. Enrolment onto these courses is subject to a grading test.
• The exams normally take place in the last week of the course, therefore we can only offer limited teaching in that week.
• You can register for the TOEFL, TOEIC and IELTS exams online!
  IELTS: : Registration for this exam should be completed a few weeks in advance at www.ielts.org, where you can find the registration form and further information
  TOEFL: TOEFL: You should book your exam 3 months in advance at the latest at www.ets.org/toefl
  
• TOEIC: You must register for this exam at least 3 weeks in advance at www.ets.org/toei.
  
• You must pay the exam fee while in Oxford. Please consult the table regarding how much the exam fee will cost
• Cambridge Certificates: You will find dates of the written papers (papers 1-3) in the table. According to our previous experience, we have found that the oral exams (papers 4-5) mostly take place a week after the end of the course. which is why the prices may include an extra week’s accommodation. As it is possible that the dates may be postponed, we recommend that you opt for a flexible flight reservation.
