Milazzo was founded by the Greeks in 761 BC and the historical remains can still be enjoyed today. The impressive and varied landscape with its picturesque sunsets and its fantastic traditional cuisine make Sicily so charming.
The sea is clean and the beaches are great for bathing. There are countless islands off the coast of Milazzo which can be visited on excursions organised by the school.

The school

Our school is situated in the centre of the Milazzo only a few steps away from the sea. All facilities are within easy walking distance. The school has 5 bright classrooms which all have air-conditioning. Our young and friendly staff teach in a lively way and lessons are very enjoyable with great emphasis on speaking activities. Adults of all ages study at this typically Sicilian school. Teaching material is not included in the price and can be purchased for £ 23 in the school.

Sightseeing in Milazzo

Milazzo is one of the oldest and most popular centres in Messina. It has always been an important town, the significance of which is documented in the archaeological finds and historic buildings that can still be visited today.

The town has two parts, a modern area as well as a picturesque medieval area. Milazzo’s port is an important link between Sicily and the Aeolean Islands.
We recommend you enjoy Milazzo’s unique sunset on the beach and then spend the evening in one of the various restaurants.
Messina is only a few kilometres from Milazzo. Its cathedral is impressive and the locals are proud of their bell tower which has a very valuable astronomical clock.
Our school in Milazzo arranges excursions to Messina, the Aeolean Islands and to Mount Etna.

Accommodation

Shared school-flat: Course participants share a flat with fully-equipped kitchen. Single (SR) or double room (DR). Shared kitchen and bathroom/WC. Average distance to the school: 5 minutes on foot. Some of the flats are located directly in the school building.

Family: Choice of double room (DR) or single room (SR), both of which are self-catered. Double rooms can only be booked by 2 people booking and travelling together. Average distance from the school: 15 minutes on foot.

Please note:

• The C.I.L.S. course in Milazzo starts from  level A0 and is therefore suitable for absolute beginners.
• Registration must be done 8 weeks before the course starts at the latest.
• The exams normally take place in the last week of the course, therefore we can only offer limited teaching in that week.
• You must pay the exam fee while in Milazzo. Please consult the table regarding how much the exam fee will cost.

Travel

We recommend that you book a flight to Reggio (Calabria) or Catania. An organised transfer can be arranged, however we recommend that you use public transport to get to your accommodation. Please check your flight reservation regularly as flight timetables change often.
In the time between 01.04 and 30.09, there is a direct bus (Giuntabus) once a day from Catania airport to Milazzo. The Giuntabus leaves Catalania airport at 4pm and gets into Milazzo at 6pm. The bus then leaves Milazzo at 8:45am and arrives at Catania at 10:30am.
There are trains and buses that travel from Catania to Messina (www.trenitalia.com and www.saisautolinee.it). You can then catch a bus from Messina to Milazzo (www.giuntabus.com)
