Antibes, located directly by the Mediterranean Sea, is a historic place with narrow alleys, an ancient city centre and palm-lined beaches. During the summer, Antibes and the integrated town Juan-les-Pins bloom. The Côte d’Azur is famous for its cities, such as Cannes and Nice, and is therefore a popular holiday destination for the rich and famous.
Pablo Picasso, one of the most important artists of modern times, adored Antibes. In 1946 he worked here in his studio. Antibes is part of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region that many connect with images of wide, purple lavender fields and breathtaking coast lines that shimmer golden at sunset.

From the marina 'Port Vauban’, the most important yacht harbour of the Mediterranean, the greatest site in the city, the Grimaldi Castle, is only a few minutes away. The castle used to belong to the honourable dynasty and has accommodated the Picasso Museum since 1966. Alongside several Picasso artworks, the museum also holds paintings by Miró and Max Ernst. The historical part of the city, with its covered market and the 'Marché provencal’, is located behind the 'Fort Carré’, which offers stunning views over the region and the sea. The traditional market offers fragrant flowers, fresh fruits and vegetables from the region, aromatic herbs from the Provence as well as French cheese and delicious sausages. Even the chefs from the many restaurants do their shopping here for their excellent regional dishes such as fish filet or vegetable casserole. Some of the best restaurants are located in Juan-les-Pins, the lively modern part of Antibes. You'll also find Antibes' night life in 'Le Village’ of Juan-les-Pins. There are many bars, restaurants and a casino. Antibes is one of the most famous holiday destinations at the Mediterranean coast. It's a perfect place to study French in France.

The School

Our language school is located just 10 minutes by foot from the city centre of Antibes. The school, a magnificent Provence stone building, is surrounded by a beautiful, 150 sq. m. garden in which you can relax during your breaks and from where you can enjoy a stunning view over the harbour and the bay.

There are 13 well-lit, friendly classrooms all equipped with TV, CD and Video. Classes will also be held outside. All teachers are French native speakers and specialise in teaching French as a foreign language.

Language courses for families

Your entire family can study French at our language school in Antibes, with parents and kids taught in separate courses. An organised activity programme for the children can be booked additionally. You will be accommodated in a family studio with either a double (DR) or a shared room (D) with an ensuite bathroom, air-conditioning and a small kitchen unit. The studios are located in a club hotel with swimming pool, app. 5 minutes from the beach. The city centre and the marina are about 2 km from the hotel. The average distance from the school is 15 minutes on foot. In the morning you can use a school transfer (price per person: 1.00 EUR). Note: During the summer months the children will be taught in the residence. In this case a transfer service will bring the children to the residence in the morning and take them back to the hotel after classes.

Sightseeing in Antibes

One of the most important sights in Antibes is the 'Picasso-Museum’ located inside of the 'Château Grimaldi’. In 1946 the famous painter Pablo Picasso worked in a studio in Antibes. He left several paintings both to the museums and to his second wife Jacqueline Roque. The Museum also contains works of Miró and Max Ernst. The castle itself originates from the 17th century and has been occupied by the Grimaldi dynasty during the last centuries.

To protect the city from attacks, the massive fortification 'Forte Carre’ was built in the 16th century by the builder Vauban. During the day, the fort offers a stunning panoramic view over the coast line; at night the fortification is illuminated. 'Port Vauban’ is located directly in front of the fort. The marina has 1700 berths and is therefore the most important yacht harbour of the Mediterranean. With its fascinating, gigantic and noble yachts, the marina is one of the main tourist attractions of Antibes. The harbour is particularly worthy of a visit during winter, as you can see the famous yacht 'Nabilia’, known from the James Bond movie "Never Say Never Again".

Antibes has moreover fantastic shopping facilities in the old part of the town. The numerous restaurants, the beach, and the night life are all reasons to visit the city at the Côte d’Azur.

Accommodation

Family: In a single (SR) or double (DR) room with breakfast (B&B) or half board (HB). The average distance to the school is about 20 minutes on foot or by public transport.

Residence: In a single (SR) or double (DR) with a private bathroom/WC. The residence is only a few minutes away from the beach. The average distance to the school is about 15 minutes on foot or 10 minutes by public transport. Double rooms can only be booked by 2 people booking and travelling together.

We recommend that you book a flight to Nice. A public transport service is available from the airport. A shuttle will go directly to Antibes (travel time: app. 60 min; ticket price: app. £ 1).
