Galway, a typically Irish town surrounded by green meadows and the picturesque Galway Bay, is situated on the West Coast of Ireland.
This university town is not even half as big as Graz, and yet still has one of the highest populations in Ireland, with around 66,000 inhabitants, 12,500 of which are students.
Restaurants in the town offer a wide variety of Irish and international cuisines. In the centre of Galway you can find the wonderful St Nicholas Cathedral, as well as various theatres.
The main street, Shop Street, winds through the centre, changing its
character as it reaches the medieval area, from a street full of modern
fashionable shops to one where you can find curiosity shops, cosy cafes
and bars, and tiny restaurants.
The sea, various lakes and picturesque mountains and rivers can all be
reached easily from Galway. The area offers itself to horse riding trips,
as well as excursions to the Aron Islands and the cliffs.

Our school, in the heart of Galway, is a 10 minute walk away from the sea and has a beautiful balcony on the roof. It has 24 air-conditioned classrooms, a computer room with internet access, a library and a cafeteria.
Our school
has developed a reputation for its friendly and personal
atmosphere, together with its attention to high academic standards of
teaching English.

Study English in Galway: Accredited by the Department of Education and a member of ACELS and MEI RELSA. Friendly school surrounded by beautiful nature.

Galway and its surroundings offer a multitude of attractions to visitors: the Aran Islands, the cliffs of Mohair, the Connemara National Park and of course, the city of Galway itself.
We recommend a tour of Galway on foot or by ferry. The Cathedral is without doubt the town’s biggest and most impressive building, situated next to an old prison which used to be notorious for its toughness. Today, it displays sculptures and frescoes in a typical Irish- Roman style.
Bridge Mills, situated next to O’Brian’s Bridge, is about
400 years old and now home to a charming shopping centre. During the summer months,
festivals with medieval costumes and banquets invite visitors to re-live
its history.
Galway has a long tradition of cultures, arts and music which you will
discover when visiting some of its pubs and clubs.
A trip to the Aran Islands, in Galway Bay just off the West Coast of Ireland, is definitely a must. The largest island is called Inishmore, the medium island Inishmaan and the smallest Inishmeer. People here are deeply proud of their Celtic traditions, speaking Gaelic as their main language.

We recommend that you book a flight to Galway airport. There is a public transport service from the airport to your accommodation. Alternatively, you can book a flight to Dublin and travel to Galway by bus (duration about 3,5 hours, price about £ 13). Alternatively, you can book the school’s transfer service.
