Great Yarmouth, situated on the East coast of England, is one of the most popular seaside resorts in Great Britain due to its mild climate and its marvellous sandy beaches. It is almost surrounded by water – the North Sea on one side and the river Yare on the other side which is part of a nature resort called the ‘Broads’, a wide network of waterways and a paradise for birds and wildlife.
Great Yarmouth offers all the amenities of a modern seaside resort:
pubs, restaurants, discos, entertainment parks, theatres, a cinema, a
skate
park, and a superb promenade, as well as facilities for golf and horse-riding.
It has an attractive town centre famous for its fish ‘n’chips
stalls and the biggest parish church in England, St Nicholas Church.
Great Yarmouth offers a multitude of leisure activities for young and
old – an ideal location for families.
The school
Our school is situated in the heart of town and within five minutes walking distance of the beach. It is surrounded by various shops, cafes and restaurants. The school building is a modern building with 14 classrooms. It has a computer room for internet access and online gaming, a cafeteria as well as a library for books, videos, DVDs and spoken tapes. Due to the traffic restrictions in the town centre, it is very quiet and undisturbed. Our school team is very friendly and helpful and will do their utmost to make your stay comfortable and successful. All tutors are native speakers and highly qualified in teaching English as a foreign language. The school organises day trips to the historical city of Norwich, as well as to London which is only 2 hours away.
Courses for families
The school also offers courses for children and teenagers. Great Yarmouth is an ideal location for families who want to study English during their family holidays. Adults and children / teens are taught in separate classes.

It has a long historic background of seafarer traditions, documented
in various museums and places of interest. The historical town wall can

The Norfolk Broads, a network of waterways in and around Great Yarmouth

and the beautiful coast offer a calm haven of wildlife and nature.
Around Great Yarmouth you will discover the charm of some of the most
beautiful typically English towns and villages.
Great Yarmouth offers something for everybody: a walk along the beach
promenade, shopping in Market Gates Shopping Centre or in the beautiful
city of Norwich, a visit to the cinema or a meal in one of the various
restaurants – the school has some insider tips for you to find
the best fish restaurants, as well as international cuisine. Traditional
English pubs offer the locally brewed ale, which must be tried!
Our school also organises day trips to Norwich and London, a typical English barbeque, guided tours of Great Yarmouth and boat explorations of the Norfolk Broads.

Exam courses
At our language school in Great Yarmouth, we offer the following exam preparation courses: Preparation for the Cambridge Certificate Cambridge Certificate (FCE, CAE, CPE), TOEFL and IELTS.
Please note:
- You can only take these courses if your English is at least at an intermediate level (B1); (FCE: A2; CAE: A2; CPE: B1; IELTS: A2; TOEFL: A2). Enrolment onto a preparation course is therefore subject to a grading test before the course starts.
- The exams normally take place in the last week of the course, therefore we can only offer limited teaching in that week.
- You can now register for your TOEFL and IELTS exams online.
IELTS: Registration for this exam should be completed a few weeks in advance and can be done at www.ielts.org, where you can find the registration form anf further information.
TOEFL: The exam date must be booked 3 months in advance at the latest at www.ets.org/toefl
- You must pay the exam fee while in Great Yarmouth. Please consult the table regarding how much the exam fee will cost.
- Cambridge Certificates: You will find dates of the written papers (papers 1-3) in the table. According to our previous experience, we have found that the oral exams (papers 4-5) mostly take place a week after the end of the course. which is why the prices may include an extra week’s accommodation. As it is possible that the dates may be postponed, we recommend that you opt for a flexible flight reservation.
