Work experience in Madrid
LISA! course participants have the opportunity of combining their language course
(duration: 4 weeks) with work experience in a company based in Madrid.
The work experience is unpaid. We co-operate with well-known companies
such as Daimler-Chrysler España, the Istituto Estudios Bursátiles,
the renowned Hotel Villa Real and many others.
Our partner companies can be found in the following areas: marketing,
information technology, event management, education, international
trade, international non-governmental organisations (NGOs), public
relations, tourism, translations, hotel management and administration.
Requirements
The work experience is exclusively for students (minimum age: 18) who are highly
motivated and speak very good Spanish, i.e. who are able to speak Spanish
fluently and communicate in written and oral business Spanish.
To applicants with an intermediate level of Spanish we recommend that you
take part in a 8 – 12 week Spanish course before taking part in work
experience.
Work experience may last between 3 and 7 months, including the 4-week
language course at our school.
Your application
We recommend you send us your application about 2 to 4 months before setting
out on your trip. (In exceptional cases we may consider an application
at short notice.) The companies will require a certificate, which you
will receive on completion of your language course, your CV, as well
as a letter in support of your application which states your motivation
and interest in work experience, both written in Spanish.
By the end of your language course, a member of the school team will
have helped you to find a suitable placement for your work experience.
You will then be invited to a job interview by the company.
We cannot guarantee work experience in a particular field although
we will do our best to comply with applicants’ needs.
Administration fees
In the unlikely case that we are unable to find the right placement for you, we will be happy to refund the administration charge for work experience.
Administration charge: £ 359 (payable directly to the school)
Accommodation
For the duration of your work experience, you can book your accommodation with a host family, in a single room (SR) with breakfast for £ 153 or double room (DR) with breakfast for £ 134 per week; or in a shared flat, single room (SR) for £ 156 per week; or in a hostel, single room (SR), ensuite, for £ 386 per week. We recommend that you book your accommodation when booking your language course in order to avoid further administration charges.
