Course participants have the possibility of combining their language course (minimum duration: 4 weeks) with work experience in a company based in Beijing. The work experience is unpaid and can last up to 3 months.
This is an extraordinary personal and professional experience for participants. The combination of a language course and work experience in China is a highly valued on any C.V. and is great for your personal development. This work experience will give you an insight into Chinese enterprise structure. Our partner enterprises are in the areas of trade, advertising etc.

Requirements
The work experience is equally valid for beginners of the Chinese language
as for experienced Chinese speakers, as the Business language component
is conducted in English. The programme is therefore aimed at highly motivated
applicants between the ages of 18 and 32 who have a high level of English.
Your four week intensive course will prepare you sufficiently for your
work experience.
Participants must be well prepared for immersion into the Asiatic mentality.
To work in an enterprise in China requires sensitivity and good
preparation. A sunny and friendly disposition is very important and will
open many doors.
Once you have established relationships with your Chinese colleagues you
may want to stay in touch on a private and / or business level on a lifelong
basis of friendship.
In all businesses, there is a clear hierarchical structure, which is often
not only based on the your colleagues' knowledge and experience but also on age. Emotions
must not be shown; just a straight answer for ‘yes’ or ‘no’
is not acceptable in Chinese culture.
Your application
We recommend you write an application before setting out on your trip.
The companies will require a Lisa! school certificate as well as a CV
containing your passport photo and a short letter in support of your application.
By the end of your language course, a member of staff will have found a
suitable placement for you. You will then have a job interview with your
prospective employer.
We cannot guarantee work experience in a particular field although we
will do our best to comply with applicants' needs.
Administration fees
In the unlikely event that we are unable to find the right placement for you, we will be happy to refund the administration charge for work experience.
Administration fee: £ 230, to be paid in Beijing.
Accommodation
For the duration of your work experience, you may stay with
a host family in a single room (SR) for £ 97,
with half-board (HB) for £ 115 a week;
in a residence single room for £ 101 per
week; in a shared school flat, single room for £ 97 per
week; or in a 2-star hotel, single room for £ 152 a
week.
We recommend that you book your accommodation along with your work experience programme.
Personal attention
Our team in China is anxious to look after students’ wishes and interests as attentively as possible, and as there are very limited places on work experience, we recommend early application.
